Cuba reports 73 new COVID cases

Havana, September 16 (RHC)—The National Director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran Garcia, reported 73 new Covid-19 cases over the last 24 hours, bringing to 4 876 the cumulative total of the disease on the island.

He also informed about the addition of one death, bringing to 109 the death toll since the beginning of the pandemic, for a lethality of 2,24%.

Forty-seven cases were from Havana, and 19 were from the Ciego de Avila provinces.

“Of all the newly diagnosed patients, 50 are Cubans 23 were foreigners. The foreigners are Indian citizens working on construction projects on the island. Seventy were confirmed case contacts,” said Duran.

There were 1783 people hospitalized in isolation centers and hospitals on Tuesday, among them 634 confirmed cases.
