Cuban party leader continues his visit to China in Shanghai

Havana, Apr 26 (RHC) - Roberto Morales, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Cuban Communist Party’s Central Committee, continues today his visit to China, which seeks to raise the political dialogue to the highest level.

The leader and his accompanying delegation traveled to Shanghai after three days in Beijing, where they held meetings with important figures from the Government and the Communist Party of China.

Morales arrived in Shanghai on Sunday and his agenda began that same day. He was received on Monday by Premier Li Qiang; Cai Qui, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of China’s Communist Party; and Wang Yi, of Foreign Affairs of the Central Committee of that political organization.

The three expressed China’s will to keep supporting Cuba and showed empathy for the current difficulties and pressures facing the island. They also indicated that China is willing to promote mutually beneficial cooperation.

On April 25 Morales inaugurated the fifth Theoretical Seminar between Chinese and Cuban Communist Parties, and after the activity two agreements were signed with an extension of five years each and with immediate effect, to expand cooperation between these partisan formations and the youth groups of both countries.

China is the first stop on an Asian tour that will be another opportunity to raise political dialogue to the highest level and contribute to the continuous development of economic, trade, financial and cooperation relations. The next destination countries are Laos and Vietnam. (Source: Prensa Latina)
