Cuban intellectual receives National Cultural Research Award

Havana, December 29 (RHC)-- Cuban intellectual Dr. Rafael Hernández Rodríguez deserved the National Cultural Research Award for Life's Work, in recognition of his outstanding work as a political scientist, philosopher and professor, Cubarte Portal announced Friday.

The award, granted by the Ministry of Culture, further enhances the career of Hernandez Rodriguez, associated with the promotion of cultural relations between Cuba and the United States. He has also published numerous books, articles and essays as author, compiler and editor.

A graduate in French Language and Literature from the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Havana, the expert is also a tenured researcher and PhD in Latin American studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

The jury for this award -presided over by Dr. Pedro Pablo Rodríguez- was made up of prestigious intellectuals,

In turn, the 2023 Annual Cultural Research Award, which is given by competition to the most relevant research results of the year, was awarded to the following works, taking into account the quality, scientific rigor, social impact and novelty of the research results:

Bibliografía de Armando Hart Dávalos 1930-2017, by authors Dr.C Eloísa M. Carreras and Dr.C Araceli García Carranza; La ideología revolucionaria en el trabajo. Una mirada desde el sector industrial (1961-1965), by Luis Emilio Aybar, and Silencios y recepciones: la novela de José Martí, by Dr. Mauricio Núñez.

The jury also awarded three mentions to Hay que defender la vida, by Jaime Gómez and Ana Niria Albo; El debate radial en Cuba, by María de La Caridad Duranza and Mario Masvidal, and Públicos y Casas de Cultura. Un estudio nacional, by Yisel Rivero, Pedro Emilio Moras and Honey Piedra.
