Advances in natural medicine at Havana congress of Italian-Latin American Society of Ethnomedicine

Havana, September 13 (RHC) --- Havana will host the 28th International Congress of the Italian-Latin American Society of Ethnomedicine (SILAE 2019), set for September 16th through the 20th.

Master in Science Rodolfo Arencibia, President of the National Technical Group of Medicinal Plants and of the organizing committee, said the event will gather some 600 Cuban and foreign experts from 30 countries, who will exchanged on the latest developments in traditional and natural medicine in Cuba and around the world.

Parallel events include the 21st meeting of Agrotechnologies, Processing and Marketing of Medicinal Plants in Cuba; the Fifth Meeting on Species of Interest: Present and Future, and an International Conference on development and technological innovation for the use of natural substances in health.

Cuba’s Ministry of Agriculture, BioCubaFarma and the Sierra Maestra Science, Technology and Innovation entity will open an exhibition dedicated to the development of natural products on the island.

Other activities on the event’s agenda include the presentation of books, audiovisual materials, sustainable technologies and new products.

Created 28 years ago between Italy and Ecuador, the Italian-Latin American Society of Ethnomedicine is today present in more than a hundred countries, with more than six thousand members.
