President Putin approves the new Russian Foreign Policy Concept

Havana, March 31 (RHC) Russian President Vladimir Putin, approved on Friday his country's new Foreign Policy Concept by signing the corresponding decree, according to the official website of the National Security Council.

The document defines the priority areas, goals and objectives of the activities carried out by Russia in the international arena. Thus, it will be the roadmap for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government entities and agencies.

The new foreign policy concept states that Moscow will prioritize support for integration processes within the framework of alliances in Latin America, Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East in a pragmatic way, without ideologies and for mutual benefit. Likewise, it prioritizes the development of relations with China and India as sovereign world power centers and friends.

The new foreign policy concept also states that Russia will protect its national interests and will focus on neutralizing threats to its sovereignty and security from Europe and from the members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). In this sense, it will investigate cases of alleged development, deployment and use of biological and toxic weapons, mainly in the territories of neighboring States.

Russia advocates guaranteeing equal security for all countries, taking into account the realities of a multipolar world. Regarding the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the text indicated that Moscow's main objective in the region is to transform it into a zone of peace, good neighborliness and prosperity.
