Havana, December 23 (RHC-ACN), -- A ceremony called 'Fogata de la amistad' (The bonfire of friendship), hosted annually by ICAP, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, was held on Friday night at the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp in the Artemisa municipality of Caimito.

The president of ICAP, Fernando González, one of the five Cuban antiterrorists who served a sentence in the United States, expressed his solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people who are trying to maintain their rights over Jerusalem. He also called to maintain the denunciation against the economic, commercial and financial blockade that damages the Cuban people.

The national coordinator of the Antonio Maceo Brigade, Andrés Gómez, stressed that it was a day of fellowship, love and solidarity, against imperialism, injustice and the excesses that oppress many peoples of the world.

More than 20 countries showed their art and culture, through a show of singing, dance, trova and poetry readings, which included the tasting of traditional dishes as well as being dressed in clothes typical of each nation.
