Cuban President visits Havana neighborhood undergoing transformation and talks with residents (+Photos)

Havana, Sep 22 (Web Network) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel visited this Thursday the neighborhood 'La Guayaba', in the municipality of El Cerro, Havana where he talked with neighbors.

 

During the tour, the president learned about the social transformations being carried out in the place, inhabited by nearly three thousand people.

The head of state visited the new grocery store, the pharmacy, the bakery, and other social works that have been built for the benefit of the community, which previously had to travel more than three kilometers to access these services.

 

While exchanging with the neighbors, Díaz-Canel commented on families and their unquestionable value as the core of Cuban society, "because from them the harmony of the neighborhood is also protected and defended," he said.

He referred to the referendum that will take place in the country next Sunday the 25th to endorse a new bill that, because of its humane and inclusive nature, will be equally beneficial to everyone. "And because precisely the Family Code represents all of us", he emphasized.
