Havana, May 4 (RHC)-- The Villa Manuela Art Gallery of the National Association of Writers and Artists (UNEAC) has opened a photo exhibition of contemporary Havana architectural gems.

Due to the complex epidemiological situation in the Cuban capital, the doors of gallery remain closed to visitors, but the exhibition is available on the websites of the gallery and of UNEAC and on the platforms of both institutions on social media.

Entitled ‘Contemporary Havana: 20 essential works’ by architects Eduardo Luis Rodríguez and Mirtha García invites viewers to appreciate 20 modern constructions in the City, by an equal number of architects, built between the 1940s and 70s.

In statements to Cuban television, architect Eduardo Luis Rodríguez said the exhibition serves to further confirm that Havana is much more than just Old Havana and its Colonial-era buildings.

The photos in this new exhibition reveal 20 works, which are an essential part of the city’s architectural heritage.

Featured in the exhibit are the José Antonio Echevarria University, the José Martí Sports Ground, Pabellón Cuba Cultural Center, Havana Libre Hotel, the National Arts Schools, Coppelia ice cream parlor, the world-famous cabaret Tropicana, Churches and apartment buildings.
