Venezuelan president says goodbye to UN coordinator in Caracas

Caracas, February 12 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro said goodbye in an official meeting at the Miraflores Palace to the resident coordinator of the United Nations Organization in Venezuela since 2016, Peter Grohmann.

The head of state said that the high official has been able to witness the Venezuelan process.  Likewise, Nicolás Maduro pointed out that Venezuela "has built great things with a view to the Sustainable Development Agenda.  We have managed to build innovative communications and coordination mechanisms." 

The president described as close relations between the United Nations System and the executive cabinet of the Venezuelan government, valuing the communications as permanent. 

The president pointed out that Venezuela is always opening the way to support and humanitarian aid, true, direct from the UN System as it should be.  Likewise, the South American ruler referred to the meeting held with the special rapporteur for human rights of the United Nations, Alena Douhan.  "This is part of the good state of relations between the Venezuelan government and the entire United Nations System", said the president.

"We are looking for a practical, effective agreement to create a fund of 300 million dollars for Venezuelan vaccines with the Pan American Health Organization and with the World Health Organization," said the Bolivarian leader.

"We always seek the path of words, truth, dialogue," said the president.  Addressing Peter Grohmann, he thanked him "on behalf of 30 million Venezuelan men and women for his work at the head of the embassy of the United Nations System in Venezuela."

Maduro acknowledged his work and wished him all the best "in the new destinies that also within Latin America, in Mexico, his public services to humanity (...).
