Washington, February 17 (RHC)-- In the U.S., January 6th Special ounsel Jack Smith has subpoenaed President Donald Trump’s former chief of staff Mark Meadows to testify and provide documents about Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn his defeat in the 2020 election.

Meadows was involved in an infamous phone call in which Trump pressured Georgia’s secretary of state to “find 11,780 votes” after Trump’s narrow loss to Biden in Georgia.  Meadows also reportedly burned documents in his office fireplace in the White House during the final weeks of the Trump administration.

This comes after former Vice President Mike Pence said this week he would invoke the Constitution’s “speech or debate” clause to oppose his subpoena from Special Counsel Jack Smith.
